Matthew Rotbart

Founding Partner
(720) 683-0819 · Ext. 102 · mrotbart@rotbartlawfirm.com

Matthew Rotbart represents sophisticated clients in complex commercial litigation, employment disputes, and real estate matters, with significant experience representing professional sports teams and organizations. Clients know him as a big-picture, creative thinker who isn’t afraid to shift strategy the moment he sees a better path forward. His employment litigation practice spans trade secrets, noncompete, discrimination, and wage-and-hour matters, and he has handled complex cases across the real estate, energy, construction, mining, sports, healthcare, finance, and consumer products industries.

Prior to founding Rotbart Law, Matt spent nearly six years as an associate at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York City, an AmLaw 100 firm. Matt then moved to Denver to join Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP, one of the country’s premier trial boutiques, where he spent over six years as an Associate and then Of Counsel. That combination of big-firm training and elite trial-boutique experience is the foundation Rotbart Law is built on: “Big Law” caliber representation, delivered without “Big Law” overhead. Matt has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as “One to Watch” in commercial litigation.

Matt earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he was involved with the Annual Survey of American Law and the Major League Baseball Salary Arbitration Competition. He graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a B.A. in Government, History, and Law & Society, and made Dean’s List. At Cornell, Matt served as President of Sigma Alpha Mu, co-founded Cornell Club Basketball, and co-founded the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, where he served as Secretary and on the Executive Board — honors that included the National Sigma Alpha Mu President of the Year Award, Most Outstanding Chapter, and induction into the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society.

Matt is admitted to practice in Colorado and New York, and is fluent in English, Danish, and Hebrew.

Blaire Bayliss

Partner
(720) 683-0762 · Ext. 100 · bbayliss@rotbartlawfirm.com

Blaire Bayliss is a trial lawyer who has spent their career in the highest-stakes corners of civil litigation, from national healthcare defense work to catastrophic injury and mass torts. Over the course of their career, Blaire has built a reputation for seeking out the cases everyone else dreaded — matters months from trial with years of discovery still outstanding, bet-the-company litigation, cases once written off as unwinnable — and consistently getting results where others couldn’t.

Blaire’s litigation work speaks for itself: a favorable verdict in a matter valued at $210 million after a months-long trial, complex e-discovery oversight involving billions of searched documents, multiple civil rights matters brought before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and clients who ask for them by name on complex multi-million dollar cases. That track record has earned Blaire eligibility for the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a Super Lawyers designation as a Rising Star in the field of Healthcare, and a nationwide reputation for relentless advocacy on behalf of their clients.

A graduate of the University of Colorado Law School, Blaire graduated with Order of the Barristers distinction for excellence in oral advocacy, and multiple scholarships and recognitions for academic achievement. Blaire further served as an Associate Editor of the University of Colorado Law Review, where their published work appeared in 91 U. Colo. L. Rev. (2020). Prior to law school, Blaire graduated with a B.A. in Economics and Business Analytics from Patrick Henry College. Over twelve years of forensic academic competition, Blaire took home countless first-place awards for public speaking, research and writing, contract drafting, negotiation, and trial presentation. Today, Blaire uses those same skills to advocate on behalf of their clients, and the wins have followed.

Blaire is admitted to practice in Colorado, before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
